Data loads can silently partially fail

- We have noticed that data loads into QlikView Personal Edition can silently fail.

- That is, when we press control-R to reload data from a SQL Server database, we have seen cases where not all data is loaded, but no error message is displayed. We only notice this by carefully comparing counts of number of rows loaded versus counts in the corresponding database views.

- We have a .qvw file, which is storing data to .qvd files.

- Has anyone else seen this?

We are still testing different scenarios but we may have found a solution to this problem.  Our new SQL 2012 server is a VMware virtual server, and the type of network adapter used in the virtual machine profile seems to have been causing problems.  Our systems people have switched to using a wmxnet3 network adapter and the results so far have been very promising.  The link below describes the documented VM issue.

VMware KB: Possible data corruption after a Windows 2012 virtual machine network transfer

I hope this may fit others' issues as well.  I will update again as we continue testing this potential solution.

Hi,

We're experiencing the same issue. Did the changing of the WMware settings solve your problem?

Cheers,

Ulli

Sorry for the slow response, but yes, this did solve the issue in our case.
