Document Chaining Using I.E PlugIn

Hi guys,

I have read a couple of posts on this forum regarding this, but no one gave a very clear answer.

I am aware that I can chain documents in QlikView and retain selections from one qvw document to the next one and I have successfully done so using the Desktop client.

I have an application hosted on a server that users access using QlikView Access Point and the I.E PlugIn.

I have tried doing the document chaining on the server and it does not work. Is it possible for me to actually implement this document chaining and transfer state(selections) from one document to another using the I.E plugin?

Any help on this would be highly appreciated as I have a tight deadline

Thanks

Please provide the full URL of the first document you're opening. Also provide the URL of the 2nd document (the new IE window that fails)

qvp://QLIKVIEW/Models/test/rid_detailed.qvw

That's exactly right. Did you check for any spelling typos? If you copy and paste the 2nd URL into a browser window and it doesn't work, make sure everything is spelled properly...also probably worth making sure that your group policy doesn't block QVP.

No, I mean paste this into IE and see if it works: qvp://QLIKVIEW/Models/test/rid_detailed.qvw. If it doesn't, that means your address is incorrect.

I am running into the same issue.

I can open the qvw file in AJAX and with the IE Plugin using the AccessPoint url but I can not open the qvw file using the qvp scheme. If I use the qvp scheme, I get the "Failed to open document, You don't have access to this document".

I am using Custom Directory Service Connector to authenticate users.

If that's the case, you need to make sure you're in DMS mode on the server. Then add your username to the Authorization list under User Documents for that QVW.
