Dynamic Data reduction - Row level using centralized approach ?

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help.

In the video posted here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjTTHQeQHhI

called 'Centralized section access control' the presenter covers and interesting solution to dynamic data reduction at the column level. He makes use of the OMIT to suppress specific columns for specific users. The centralized solution appears to have many benefits and allows developers/designers to just include the URL to the server where the security has been set up.

My question is this: can dynamic data reduction also be handled for ROW LEVEL reduction  in v10 and 11 using the centralized approach described in the video ? I don't have access to the server at this time so I cannot check myself but would appreciate if someone could confirm this is indeed possible

Thank you

Hi,

Yes, anything you can do with section access can be centralized in this way.

Just think of it as loading a text file with your section access but instead it's maintained on the server and you pull it using a URL instead.

If you want to create reductions based on certain field values this will work fine.

Thank you, That's what I was hoping.
