I am trying to create a management information pack which will be updated monthly. I have set up various charts and tables, however, I am struggling to find the best method of adding commentary.
Commentary should change dependant on the month selected to reflect the data in the charts.
Ideally monthly commentary would be edited by a user on screen then locked and published to other users, who would still be able to access prior month's.
I have tried input boxes linking to text boxes, but this doesn't allow for adequate formatting.
First of all, text boxes support more advanced formatting, but this is disabled by default. To enable it, go into Settings --> Document Properties --> General tab, and change Styling Mode from Simplified to Advanced. You can then control the contents of the text box by creating an expression with IF statements--this can get a little memory intensive but there is unfortunately no way to define a conditional show on text objects so as to hide one and reveal another...
