Effort estimations for Qlikview

Dear Friends/Gurus,

How we provide Effort estimations for Qlikview implementation

1.Effort in Hours

2.Activities to accomplish in efforts

3.Overall cost for effort

For ex, if we have 11 bar charts, 11 pie charts,2 straight tables to create. How many hours we estimate?

Please guide me in correct direction if iam not providing sufficient details.

Thanks in Anticipation.

Regards,

Kishore.

11 bar charts, 11 pie charts,2 straight tables = from 15 minutes to 2 weeks

The analysis and development required to provide the data for those charts, from 10 minutes to 2 years.

Depends on your data, organisation, management involvment, analysts/developers/consultants expertise and their rate.

Hi Kishore,

The major part in Qlik Implementation is the data modelling.

So overall time depends on the complexity of the data model.

As per my experience your 50% time will go in Data Modeling and then 30% in visualization development and 20% in validation.

You can look at the database and data structure to estimate how much time will it take.

You must now what all activity and milestone you will have in your project to finish that.

You can rate the milestone and as per the weight you can define the time required for that activity.

Followings are the major activity which will be required.

1. Requirement Gathering

2. Data Extraction

3. Qvd creation and ETL logic.

4. Data Modeling

5. Visualisation

6. Validation.
