I am in the process of created a QlikView report. It contains two tabs. One has a few objects on it. The other is blank. When I save the file with the populated tab selected, the file is 293kb. When I save the file with the blank tab selected, the file is 288kb. When I go back and save again the file with the populated tab selected the file is again 293kb. I know that it is not a great difference. I am just interested in knowing why this is. They are, essentially, the same file.
I'm not really sure about the difference but I think it's related to the fact that the visibility of objects needs to be stored, too and probably also some parts of the caching of the calculations within the objects.

I agree with Marcus, the file is the same but the status is not, and the visible objects and properties are stored in the QVW file as anything else (hidden objects, data, script, etc.).
