I have been learning the Qlikview product and am now looking to create some sample work. However, while I can learn the tool via online tutorials, I need to learn the process by which BI requirements are gathered and interpreted and turned into a qlikview document. Basically, I need to practice creating documents based upon BI requirements. This would include how to interpret the requirements into what should appear in the qlikview document. Does anyone know where I can find instructions/samples/exercises of how to do this?
Hi Alexander,
From my experience implementing QlikView document at customer sites I would turn the question around.
Where QlikView really shines in my opinion is where you only have a vague idea of the requirements when you start and as you are building the QlikView document you work out the requirements based on the data available and the discoveries you uncover in the data.
Steve Dark has a good post on what makes up a QV Developer on his blog that I would recommend reading.

Without going way to off-topic I would recommend that you take the free online training training that was posted in the thread before. But most of all - the best QlikView documents aren't built solely based on technical requirements but a mix between business understanding and the ability to rapidly change your perception of the requirements as the project progresses.
Yeah, nothing in my e-mail.
I have completed all of the free online training offered by Qlikview.
Now I need to create some sample work to market myself. In so doing,
I would like to see the process from beginning to end to practice it
so I can then create dashboards as examples of my work.
Thats great you completed the courses.
thanks,
