Hiya folks,
A quick question for you if somebody could help me out. I've created a forcast graph which depicts two lines. One is for data of a company, and the second is the company's goal of how the data should be. So if the company is sticking to its goals then the data line and goal line should be overlayed
the data line is not just a straight line. It is quite zig zag, something like that of a stockmarket graph. What i need to do is put a consistent straight line through the average of the data values. By chooing properties/presentation I can put a trendline and click the "average" box
However i cannot seem to change the colour of this line to be different from that of the zip zag data line.
Anybody got any ideas?
Hi there,
not sure what you're referring here to, by default the average line has a different color, you can set it on the colors tab.
It's perhaps better to create a straight percentage line for the goal and show the deviation (in percentage) of the forecast against that line.
That means each company/time/... you need to set the goal as 100% and then calculate the deviation of the forecast against that.
Perhaps not the easiest way, but good way to see how much deviation per dimension value you get.
Compare it to a budget (100% line) and how much the actual cost deviates from that budget.
