I'm new in QlikView.
I have a web file (excel) uploaded, there is a date field (DD/MM/YYYY) that I would like to group by Year, and I would like to use this group in my pivot table and my chart.
Example:
| Department | Project Number | Project Start Date | Year (GroupingDate) |
| Sales | 100001 | 08/01/2010 | 2010 |
| Procurement | 100002 | 10/01/2011 | 2011 |
| Finance | 100003 | 09/01/2011 | 2011 |
| Finance | 100004 | 03/01/2014 | 2014 |
| Procurement | 100005 | 01/01/2012 | 2012 |

Do I need to create a calculated field? Or a dimension ?
