Grouping issue

Hi,

I know that we can group the columns using the gruoping functionality available in the document settings.

But when i click the first column then it is taking me to the second column any how i am not able to see the first column.

What i need to do is, to give the user +/- to expand and collapse the column details.

Ex: I have two columsn SBU and BU. Fist i should show all the SBU's with a Plus (+) sign against each of the SBU. If i click an SBU then i should get the list of BU's related to that SBU. The symbol must be (-) here. I should be able to see both SBU and BU at this selection.

Any suggestions is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Srihari.

Hi Deepak,

Yes that works... I am just selecting the pivot table in the fast change. 🙂

Its working after selecting the chart type in the left pane.

Thanks,

Srihari.

Hi,

If my understanding is correct. You can use the pivot table to get the desired result.

I am using pivot table only.

But i am getting both of these columns side by side when both the columns are added as dimensions.

hi Srihari,

There two ways of grouping in qlikview. One is the Grouping in Dosument setting which will create a cyclic group or a Drill down.

When you create Drill down, the field which you have added first will be shown first in the dimension. When you select the data it will take you to the mext level of the data for that particular selection.

As per my understanding, In you case you need not create a drill down.

You can directly add the two fields in the dimension and use pivot table to achieve the + - .

When you right click a pivot table , you will find option like collapse / expand which will help you to drill down.

I hope this helps.
