Thomas, that could be multiple things, first hunch would be security related issue, does it open if you drop the URL into a web browser on the machine you are using? Actually, just realized we could use a bit more information here as well, is this Desktop Client, or server client etc...? If you can provide some further details of the situation/use case, that should help, but my first check would be security side of things.
