How can I define the path of Excel file in Qlikview ? Should It has to be from server or Dirrectory

Hi ,

I have some QVW's the data is loading from Excel source .

My question is Where should we define the path of the source . has it to be at Qlkview Server or it has to be directory;

pls help me its a bit urgent.

If you want to load a file excel it must be on the server so the path is related to the server

Thanks for your reply.Because as the source files could be in any shared locations that has been spread all over the place .I am wondering what is the best practice to follow, does it need to be at qlivkiew server  or any other shared directories.

Dear Vamsi,

We should maintain a proper directory structure for the files to be loaded in QVW.

If we maintain proper directory structure then there are no any chances of reload failed.

By this we can fetch files from multiple places and keep them at same place in directory structure.
