How should I upgrade Qlikview Server from 11.2 SR1... - Qlik Community

I apologize in advance for my daft newbie question.

How does one move between different versions of the Server? Is it to uninstall the previous version and then install the newer version?

I wish to apply SR 3 to our 11.20.11716 server.

What would happen to the exiting documents? Is there an upgrade process which updates them?

Hello Ravi,

The new release of is 11.2 SR3 (11.20.12018). I recommend updating the Qlikview server software with this release. You may download QV 11.2 SR3 from download site (http://eu.demo.qlik.com/download/)

Basically:

1. Make a backup of the server

2. Uninstall 11.2 SR1 (perhaps not strictly necessary, but recommended in the documentation)

Your documents will not be removed (or in any way altered), only the server software.

3. Install 11.2 SR3

4. Test, test, test until you're confident that things are ready for production

Thanks for that. I've done as you've recommended but was wondering how I point the Access Point at the original documents that are still present after the upgrade?
