How to Qlikview understand the data types?

There are two data types strings and numbers. The numbers are IEEE 754 compliant floats. Numbers have a numeric value and optionally a string representation format. For example dates can have formats like 01-01-2015, 01-Jan-2015, 2015 januari 1 ...etc. The numeric value of the date 01-01-2015 will always be 42005 regardless of its string representation format.
