I suggest you start with some basic introduction training. There are some free videos here:

I think I understand, but I'm still quite confused haha
QVD is the data file, which I have.
QVW is like the workbench area, where the data can be viewed, and has a UI.
So if I open the QVD in QV, then that is the QVW?
Are there supposed to be graphs, tables, visuals etc?
Thanks!
You load the QVD into the QVW, which creates data (the "data model") in the QVW. From the data model, you then need to create your own charts and visuals using that data.

I see. Could you provide an example of a data model from a QVD?
I'm happy to help newcomers, but if you are brand new to the product, I think it's reasonable to expect that you need to invest a few hours in education. Some suggested ways you can get basic training:
- Review the New to QlikView Videos
- Try the free content in the on-line Qlik Continuous Classroom Continuous Classroom
- If you prefer to learn from a book, I can recommend "QlikView your Business" or "QlikView for Developers", both available on Amazon.
QlikView is a great product but it does require that you invest a relatively small amount of time in learning. Welcome to the Community, I look forward to helping you with your future questions (after you have reviewed the basics )
