How to get the Gmap key

I need Gmap key for my QV application.

I tried the link code.google.com\apis\maps\signup..

Its asking me for the Domain name. but I do not have any.

I am using a stand alone application. In which I need maps.

Pls let me know your comments on how to get the key and use that to plot my areas in Google maps.

You don't need anymore a google maps key for a stand alone app.

however, you can try here  http://code.google.com/intl/fr/apis/maps/signup.html

Then you can find a lot of example in the community, just make a search with google maps.

If you need help to begin, you can post some geo data, i could help you
