I have no idea what you want? Can you explain what you need to do?
you can use the QMC;
System --> Licenses --> select server on the left --> select Client Access Licenses on right
then General for an overview, Assigned Cal for named cal
for document cal you have to use the Docuemnt tab
you can use a QlikView doc:dashboard for cal allocation/usage
you can use the QMSAPI
"User Licenses for Qlikview Server is seen in QMC under Assigned Tabs, ryt??"
Well, that's correct for all user licenses, except that it rapidly becomes unmanageable if you start mixing many Named CALs and Document CALs. The Named CAL assignments are listed in QMC->System->Licenses->QlikView Server->CALs->Assigned->CALs, but the Document CAL assignments are listed in a tab attached to every individual document that has Doc CALs assigned. For only a few CALs and a few documents, this will work out OK. For hundreds of documents and hundreds of CALs, getting a complete picture by visiting the different tabs is tiresome and a waste of valuable time. That's why QlikView administrators quickly move to consulting a specialized document that groups CAL details for them.
"Then it is seen automatically then why there is need to again read list of user licenses automatically and not manually ??"
I do not understand your question, I'm sorry, Do you mean that consulting the QMC (manually) is more straightforward than consulting a specialized document that needs to be reloaded every so often?.For small amounts of licenses, that may be true. But not for long, I guess. You should also consider cases where document CALs "may get lost". Then the QMC won't be of any use, but tools like the Qlikview Server CAL Manager surely will assist you in recovering your assets.
Best,
Peter
Hey,
THanks but i see that on my server someone has already worked on this task and this dashboard is already present there with Named Cal info.
1: Is this the only way to read the qlikview server list of user licenses automatically ??
2: WHat is QLikview Management API Group and where can i find it becoz when i relaod the dashboard it shows you dont have access to Qlikview MAnagemt API Group
