IPAD : Dropdown select menu

Hello everyone,

In a straight table we enabled dropdown select for dimension say Product.

If they are suppose 1000 products and we want a product say 'Zia', will user scroll all way down to ZIA.

Cant he type 'Z' and get products starting from Z.

But while using IPAD, we are not able to type values to select.

Does anyone has any idea about this?

Unfortunately with development for the iPad you sometimes have to come up with some more intuitive GUI to make life easier for the user.

For example how about having a selection box which has the first letter of the product and then limiting the available product choices on that?
