Impose value on a bar, similar to value on data points, but from a separate field

In a bar chart: Can I display a value that is associated with the dimension within each bar if the bars correspond to a different expression than the value I would like to appear within each bar?

My scenario is: I have a Gantt Chart; dates on the bottom axis, ProjectName's on left axis, bars are (ProjectFinishDate-ProjectStartDate). I would like to display ProjectPercentComplete within each bar. That is a field name like ProjectStartDate and ProjectFinishDate: a field associated with my dimension ProjectName, but is not measured by the percentage of project time that has elapsed.

I want to provide the user with the added piece of information. Any thoughts, wise friends?

In V10, you are allowed to use Extension objects. There is a simple Gantt chart example. Perhaps you could expand upon the example to create what you need.

In V9, you really have to jump through hoops to try to get a Gantt chart to work. This is using overlayed charts, gets pretty complex trying to align things just right.

V10 really is the way to go.
