In Button - How to select Maxstring and Maxstring -1

Hello all,

Hopefully this is an easy one for yall.

I have a requirement of a button selection where the button will select =Maxstring(Period2) and =Maxstring(Period2) -1 .  The "Period2" is my field name that has dates as strings.  I've only been able to successfully select the first value, but cannot figure out how to add the second (please see picture)... What do I need to add to the Search String?

It's quite simple - don't use strings as period-fields else numeric ones. This applies for all kinds of matching or calculating.
