Hey guys,
I am a newbie both to QlikView and in-memory, even though I have read some regarding them. So please correct me if I understood it wrong. The function in QlikView that any tables with a same field name can be automatically joined is owing to in-memory technology, isn't it?
Many thanks and regards,
Myr
Yes, Your right.
all fields will be linked, if they have same name.
but its cause is in-memory technology?
no, its qlikview way of linking tables.
in other in-memory bi tools, they are not linking table on same fields name....
AND
in-memory does play any role in linking tables.
in-memory means, your data will be loaded in memory, for fast processing and increase in performance.
No, in-memory doesn't play a role in linking tables. That purely helps in loading the complete data in to RAM for analysis.
QlikView's "Associative Data Model" is what is responsible for the linking of tables based on field names. It is supposed to speed application development by making an intuitive link between the tables.
It works well, but requires care when loading multiple tables with similar names, yet unrelated data.
