Hi Team -
I've two servers where QV is installed one in Production and another in DR.
The working directory for qvds, qvw are same in production and DR.
When switching from prod to DR, how does qv identify the directory where it needs to refresh or save qvd, or qvw's unless i have a "include statement" included in the qv scripts along with IP id. Is there any automated way to achieve it like save the prod ip id with working directory in a text file and call the text file in the "Include Statement".
Kindly assist.
Rgds,
Sean.
Here is what I was able to find in Help that may be of some use:
If the paths are the same in the two environmens, i.e. your UNC paths or drive paths are identical, you should not have any issues, or if you can use DNS to change the pointer to things, that should work too.
So more direct to your question now that I reread things, the paths are stored in the QVPR regarding the source document folder locations etc., and the QVS stores its file paths in the Settings.ini file, so as long as the QVPR settings and the QVS settings are correct in both environments, that should take care of most everything, I do not think you need include statements etc... Shout if I am missing something here, but I think you may just be overthinking this one hopefully.
Cheers,
Brett
