In Qlikview, it seems like when I make a bookmark by selecting some items in a list object (also checking the option for applying bookmark on top of current selection) and then clearing all selections and then choosing some different items from the same list object and then applying the bookmark clears the current selection. Is there a work around for this?
It's the intended default behaviour from Qlik that new selections remove older ones if they couldn't be applied on top of them. You could with set analysis: A Primer on Set Analysis ignore certain selections or overwrite them (and even building complex datasets with included nested bookmarks are in general possible) but beside the technically challenges to implement it it's quite difficult to explain the users that their selsections do work different as they expect them, see: Let the User Select.
