I'm new to Qlikview and our company plans to use it for reporting from our internal DW. I have a few general questions. I was involved a little but never got too invloved in the specifics, but I have found that I need to know more about how the tool gets it's datasets. We use Teradata as our DW. My question is this. Can/does Qlikview use views as a means to populate the Qlikview environment tables? I know that it can use the base tables, but can it use view to retrieve the data and populate the Qlikview environment using only views if necessary?
I'm not sure specifically about Teradata, but generally speaking, QlikView can load data from views. I can positively confirm it regarding SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB/2 and MS Access. I guess it depends on the specifics of the Teradata ODBC or OLE/DB providers.
