Many way of write SET expression , how you decide ?

Hi All expert.

I aware that set expression is so powerful and flexible.

What I know is the expression that can produce the report I want is right one.

But I thinking why there it no one best approach to teach new user what to take care like CurrencyFormat , comparr must use max date , ...

It there any  one can share the right approach , so can do it right .
