Master Calendar causing a loop

Hi guys,

I know this is a subject much talked about but I cannot figure out where i am going wrong.

I have created a table for my master calendar and I've created specific tables which contain the UniqueID and the date.  I have then tried to join these dates onto the master calendar table but for some reason this is creating a loop!  Screenshot of the table layout is attached which should make this clearer..

Can anyone help?

Try having a Master Calendar for your Orders Entered and another master for Returns.

You can have multiple Master calendars to link to each Date fields you have in your table.:

The only thing is.  What if I have two tabs in my document and I want to create list boxes for the Day/Month/Year.  What i want is if you choose items in the list boxes i want them to link to the other tabs.

Does this makes sense?

Hi Jamel,

you might want to try creating either a concatenated fact table, or a link table. There are many resources on this site to help you do this. You then can link the calendar to a single field in your concatenated fact or link table.

I try to think of a Master Calendar as a Lookup table for the specific date field attached to it.

so it should be exclusively linked to one field.
