Memory usage

Hello All

I started working on an already created QVW. The file size of this document is about 8GB. This document has about 8 users. The QVS has a good amount of memory at 400GB. I am preloading the documents after they are reloaded so as reduce the access time for the users.

When i load this document it consumes a decent amount of memory but, as time the memory used increases drastically consuming almost all the memory.

I have a couple of questions:

1) does the number of user sessions effect the memory usage?

2) Is there any reason why the memory usage increases as the time progresses

3) I observed that there are multiple sessions opened by the same user. is it possible to reduce the number of sessions used by same user? if so will this reduce the memory usage?

4) i was planning on splitting the QVW into 5 different documents so that they would be taking less space in the memory as all of them will not be loaded at the same time.

Any help regarding this issue will be appreciated.

1: yes, about 15% of the QV-file per extra user (memory in RAM will be more than the size of the QVW, as far as I know about 130% eg. 8gig should take 10-12 gig in ram).

2: yes, if the user does not end a session before starting a new one

3: I believe a user is dropped after 3 hours(?) of inactivity by default. You can reduce the amount.

4: good starting point (but still check if 3 helps).

edit:

I noted you have only eight users, that should not cause such issues. Check how many sessions are active (see 1).
