Hi all,
I want to do the following thing and trying to find out what the best way to do it would be: I have 2 separate dashboards (single tab) that I would like to merge them in one qlikview file, which will have a page with a selection button for which one you would like to see. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Hi Bill,
This is not what I am looking for in this case as we are talking about complex layouts with several sheets, conditional objects according to variables etc.
The manual work would be:
create all sheets
create all variables
show all objects in each original sheet
copy paste all into the sheet in new file
Joseph
In the QV Desktop, have you looked at in the QV Desktop:
File | Export | Export Document Layout
Best Regards, Bill
1)You can open on QlikView application from other on a click.
2)You can Merge the script of two dashboard. i.e. using Binary load
remember a)UI cannot be merged but only data model or design
b)Variable made also wont be copied, need to define the variable again
Hi Joseph,
Please try below one.
Create one button and call the action "Qlikview Document" in any one of the document.

I did export the layout but the import layout option in the new one is grayed out.
The new one is currently a blank sheet but all the data is there using one binary qvw load and several qvd loads of the tables of the second original qvw.
When I try to see how import layout works in a completely new/blank file, it expects a layout.xml file as input but I have a list of several xml files (probably one per object) and no layout.xml file
that the feature of binary load,
UI is never copied.
Only data comes
Joseph
I'd suggest you open a new on Layout Export / Import & close this thread as it is diverting and getting confusing.
so there is no way I can copy the UI along with variables and everything?
As per my knowledge to import the variables there is no method instead of creating.
No Joseph,
You have to define it again after you load...and for UI
you can select all. i.e. ctrl+A and ctrl+v which ever sheet you need to paste
