Money formatting for sum-of-rows expression total

I've got a straight table where an expression includes the Money function to format the number as money and I've made the money user-selectable (Rupees, Dollars, Euros). Now, I'm trying to figure out how to get the expression total, a sum of the rows, to be formatted for money like the data rows. Does anyone know if that's possible and how to do it?

Hi Tim,

Look at the attachement, hope that helps you.

Hi Martin, If I could set the Total Mode to Expression Total that would work fine. The expression I'm working with has an Above function in it and that won't work correctly as an expression on the Total line. I want to use a Sum of Rows for the Total line.                    Thanks for your reply.  -Tim

Hi Tim,

I understand what you are trying to do but I'm not clear on the sticking point without seeing an example. My money function seems to cascade into a sum of rows total. Can you post an example?

Interesting.  Sum of rows breaks a currency example of mine as well.  I guess since I'm using custom money formatting in the expression itself, sum of rows doesn't use the formatting.  I'm guessing you're having the same problem for the same reason.  One way around it that should work is to do a sum(aggr(expression, dimensions)) like you might in a pivot table to get a sum of rows.  That way, you could wrap the whole thing in your money expression and do expression total to get the correct formatting.  It seems to work in my currency example, but I'm not using above() or anything complicated.

I am having the same issue. This should be a bug in the Qlikview and it is disappointing to see the issue still exists in 2014
