Member Profile

I'm afraid I've gone largely inactive in the Qlik Community again. I've been a contractor at USS/POSCO since 1992, working as a programmer and software designer. I started doing QlikView development in I believe 2005, both the scripting and visual design aspects of it. I don't remember when I started contributing to the forums after that. At some point, QlikView became my primary work responsibility, and I became a fairly prolific contributor to the forums for quite a while. Then in 2012, my primary responsibility shifted back to software design, and with QlikView down around 20% of my hours, I decided to retire from the forums and hang up my QlikView expert cap. I was briefly active again after a new manager came into place and I had full support for contributing to the forum on work hours. But his time in that position were brief, and so were my contributions to the forum. I'm back to being almost entirely inactive now. I'm sure I have more gaps in my knowledge than many people around here. I've only ever done QlikView for a single client. I wouldn't consider myself a QlikView Publisher expert. I know virtually nothing about maintaining a QlikView server. I haven't played with Qlik Sense at all. I've not used extensions. I'm not sure what all has been improved and might make my life easier over the past years. Although I've continued using QlikView, with years away from the forum and no communication with experts, my skills have rusted and become a bit outdated. I may still contribute on rare occasions, but I'm not reading the forums on any regular basis.
