Need a connection to Amazon S3

Hello Qlikview experts,

I have a requirement to directly connect qlikview with Amazon S3. Is there any possible way to do the same?

If connection exists, please specify the native drivers or the third-party drivers and also the step-by-step procedure to connect the same.

The pdf you have shared is how to connect to Redshift Database (Correct me if Iam wrong). Is this the same way to connect to the Amazon S3 even?

I had a look at the link, which I understand is the required connector is still in progress and it may get release at any time by the Qlik team. But I can see the snapshot connecting to Amazon S3 with some credentials and not the connector. Please post the download link of connector.

Hi,

I came across a software product called TNT drive, which allows you to map an S3 bucket to a drive letter in windows, and use that as a normal drive.

Not used it in production yet and I'm sure there are other ways/software, but it might provide a way forward for you.

Does anyone know what the status is on the Amazon S3 connector? It looks like it's in beta according to QVSource but I can't seem to find any information on it through Qliks web page.

What do you need to do? S3 can be used directly with "Web File" from both QlikView and Qlik Sense as long as the file is public.And with an obfuscated filename that should be pretty safe since you would use https to have a secure channel.... Using a Web File connection you can even read QVD-files from S3 - if you want.

If you use the Qlik REST connector you can even provide credentials via a header so the file does not need to be "public". Then you could read CSV, JSON and XML off of S3.

For connecting direct web file in qlik sense we need S3 bucket url , but the file URL which was there in S3 will get expire within  30 minutes.

Please suggest which url need to pass in the webfile ?

In the above case it is not dynamic , every time we need to pass url which and all file we need from S3 . Do you have idea , how to make it in dynamic way (where we have one dedicated URL to list all the files in S3) ?

Can you give a snap how to configure the REST API in qlik sense ?

Did you try TNT drive with QlikView/QlikSense, how did it work. Please share your experince.
