Odd behaviour with data association

Hello QV Community

I have loaded up two columns from a single stored QVD.  I'll call them field 1 and field 2.

In a small number of cases, when i select a value in field 1, no associated value appears in field 2 (selections greyed out suggesting there is no data association.)

However, i know that this is not true!  When I sort field 2 in ascending order, rather than auto ascending, the correct associated value is displayed.

I find this quite odd!  Can anybody explain why this may be happening?

Thanks in advance

Rich

Hi Rebecca.

Please see the attached qvd.  When I load this into a Qlikview document and select 12233651 in Field 1, Field 3 suggests there is no associated data.

If i change the sort from Auto Ascending to Ascending in the properties of Field 3, then I see that value 31 is valid for the selection I have made in Field 1.

For info we are using QV10 Service Release 5.

Thanks

When I select 12233651 I show 31 for Field 3 and the sort isn't messing anything up.  I am using V11 though, so maybe it is something in your version.  Sorry I don't have anything else to offer you!!

OK.  Perhaps it's time to organise an upgrade to 11 !

Thanks all the same for taking a look.

Thanks for the info.  The problem is intermittent so I believe must be a bug in my version.  But I will try your approach next time I see it happening!
