Problem with OnAnySelect Trigger and Back and Forward buttons

Hi all!

I have noticed a strange behaviour with QlikView 9.0 SR7 64-bit.

If I define an OnAnySelect trigger, with a "Set Variable" action, the "Back" and "Forward" buttons in Selections menu stops working.

I have verified this issue with version 9.0 SR6 too. Is this a bug?

Thanks in advance for the attention.

I see how you are thinking, but imo it is not wrong.
The action says "change to Y' on any selection, but it never says that it should change back to X on deselection.

Hello Dennis,

the problem is that the selection in the F1 list is not reverted when I click the BACK button.

Thanks

I see what you're saying, the Back button doesn't do anything at all. Removing the OnAnySelect trigger makes the Back button work again.

Maybe you can try adding a OnSelect Field Event Trigger to the F1 field. This is under the same Document Settings... Triggers tab.

Hi Moshea,

I know that if I remove the OnAnySelect trigger the Back button works again but for my purposes I need to use the OnAnySelect trigger.

Any other ideas?

I tired running a macro on OnAnySelect but the problem seems to persist. It looks like a bug to me. The only work around I can find is to do what I mentioned above about using only Field Event Triggers instead of OnAnySelected. I know this is a huge pain if you have a lot of fields, I just can't figure out a way around it.

I even tried making a macro that pressed a button on OnAnySelected and the button ran a macro to set vTest. This still didn't work. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Here's another post with the same problem but no solution:

Not one they've fixed in v10 SR2, unfortunately!  I am having the exact same problem in v10SR2.  Hopefully in the next release...

Persists in v10 SR3 - confirmed bug ID 41442.

Very annoying indeed.
