QVD size is bigger than RAM size

Hi experts...

i faced on of the scenario that my QVD file size is bigger than my RAM size.

Example: My QVD size is 5GB but my RAM Size is Only 4GB. how i load the qvd into my RAM is there any method to compress the QVD siz.

Hi Shan,

you could limited the amount of records or load a subset of fields only to the smaller memory. You could also try to aggregate the data if you do not need this level of detail. However, there are some tips how to reduce the size. One is to prevent to load fields with high cardinality (IDs, timestamps etc.).

Hi,

A 1GB .qvw document uses around 4GB in RAM for the first user (based on a multiplier of 4x to establish the initial RAM footprint based on file size). This multiplier is normally between 2x and 10x. User number two may increase this by around 10% as their calculations get cached resulting in a required RAM footprint of 4.4GB. User number 3 requires a further 10%, increasing the footprint to 4.8GB, and so on.
