Hi Anjana,

In a number of areas QlikTech have opted to make their platform open and engage with other companies to deliver add-ons.  The vibrant QlikMarket is a good example of this in action.  One of QlikTech's partners Rosslyn Analytics provides access to QlikView in the cloud.  This allows QlikTech to focus on building excellent software, and lets Rosslyn worry about looking after the infrastructure of the cloud offering.

I can't comment on what Tableau can or can't do on any of these points as I have never used it on a live site.  It may well be enterprise ready - I was just disagreeing with the point that QlikView is only good for small to medium businesses.

Hi Sokkorn,

Thanks for the reference.  I have read Andre's posts for a while - he has some good QlikView articles on his blog.  He uses a number of different platforms for data visualisation, so is well placed to build these comparisons - but he does often put down QlikView in a way that seems somewhat biased.

I came up against a prospect who was armed with a previous comparison table he produced (against the Microsoft stack, I think) and some of the limitations he had presented against QlikView we proved to be unfounded when we dug in to them.

Reading his blog for a perspective of how different analysis platforms stack up is certainly recommended though.

Not sure exactly how Data Integration is defined in the table above but we believe QVSource makes QlikView one of the best connected/integrated tools on the market with over 35 Connectors to online web APIs (many of which themselves connect to multiple sources).

Would be interested to know how Tableau users connect to these sources.

Hi Chris Brain,

Tableau has in build connectors. this is good advantage of tableau so no need third party connectors like QlikView for example in Qlikview, suppose to connect SAP we need SAP connector where as Tableau no need connector it has in build (Cost benefit). More ever Map objects also in build no need extension objects like Qlikview, i am sharing my knowledge to you what i got about Tableau.

Regards,

Nihhal.

Hi Sok

Interesting comparison table. I like to seek your personal comment on the long term viability.

For QV is only 1 product , spotfire is indicate as Yes.

But i feel that company with 1 product focus usually their product are better compare to those company make full range of product. like for example microsoft their B.I. is usually link with their accounting software.

Hi Jagan

Thank you for the link on compare QV with Tableau.

Even Tableau is much better then QV . i think their existing user especially those small to mid company will not be switching , as switching cost is higher .

I think it will affect those new user only.

Can you also share your thinking on this ?

Hi Nihhal,

Thanks for your response. Interesting to know, does that mean Tableau can connect natively to services like Google Adwords, AdSense, Drive/Spreadsheets, Double a Click for Publishers, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Sentiment and Text Analytics and the many other online data sources supported by the QlikView + QVSource mix?
