Has anyone delivered the direct discovery feature (SQL database) in an automated real time refresh, based on a timer? I understand direct discovery will SQL query measures in real time as dimensional selections are made in the QlikView document.
I am looking to deliver a real time dashboard. I do not want the limitation of having a user physically click on a selection filter in order for the source SQL database to be queried, and the results delivered to the chart(s). I want the document to automatically apply the same selection filters based on a timer, in n minutes.
Might one way to do this might be to code a webpage (via javascript and using a server enabled with workbench), that refreshes every n minutes , sending the same filters to a QlikView document which has direct discovery enabled?
Anyway, looking for the best way to achieve this.
