I am using Qlikview Server and I am trying to send e-mail alerts when a certain condition occurs. However, there is some problem in the step "user preferences - mail", because when "Test" button is pressed Qlikview is returning the following error message:
"Could not connect to server. Last Response: unexpected AUTH PLAIN response, Last response: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first".
I have created a hotmail e-mail account for this purpose and set the required parameters to:
Address: smtp.live.com
Port: 587
Authentication method: AUTH PLAIN (I also have tried with other methods with the same result)
User ID: the e-mail address of the created hotmail account
Password: hotmail's password
Can the sender e-mail be the same as the server?
After searching for solutions in the web, I still cannot understand what am I doing wrong or what can I do to solve this issue and begin to send e-mail alerts - that is why your knowledge would be a great help.
