Question about installing QV12 desktop in server environment

Hi all, if I install QV12 desktop and the latest SR in my server environment, is there any corresponding action I need to take with Qlikview Server/QVMC stuff?  (Sorry, QV upgrades are so rare I forget what we did last time.  Sifting through google and reference material now too. )  Thanks!  Edit: We're on QV 11.2 SR 12 currently.

I'm actually bringing QV up to date in case that's all I need to do to solve a weird problem I am having.  The problem I'm having is when I copy some chart and graph objects from one qvw to another, the receiving qvw is refusing to save or let me check changes into our svn repository with the new objects on it.  Then when I close it, it asks if I want to save and I say yes, but then it does the application not responding message and asks if I want to check online for solutions and close it or just close it.  And the objects are gone when I open it back up.  I've tried a few different approaches to copy/pasting, but they're refusing to stick.  Objects are complex enough that upgrading qlikview is simpler than trying to remake them from scratch, but I'll remake them from scratch if all else fails.

FYI, I solved the weird problem I was having copying objects from one qvw to another, so qv12 upgrade is less urgent now, but I welcome any input about upgrading from qv11.2 to qv12 in a server environment.  Thanks!

(Solution to 'weird problem' was either the part where I checked in changes of the source document after I made its objects copyable - it was saved but not checked in - ....or, me adding a letter a to the end of the object id of the copy of the object after it was in the second dashboard.  For that second solution, it occurred to me there might be an object id conflict, or maybe I just needed to modify the copy in its new document to make the new document take ownership of it.  Sorry, very unscientific trying 3 solutions at once then checking results. )
