Questions regarding the Join function in Qlikview

Hey everyone,

I am new to Qlikview. I have a question regarding the Join function, that is can a field with variables or characters be joined with another field with variables or characters as long as they have the same field name? I mean they do not have to id with bigint, do they?

What you are talking about is not joins. You are talking about Concatenating two values. You can achieve that using '&' (ampersand).

Field1 & Field2

Variable1 & Variable2

etc...
