Recalculation of object is taking ages! Plz help!

Hi,

I have a problem with the document I'm currently working on: The object - a straight table - is taking ages to recalculate, not only at script_reload, but every time I change something in the selections or in the properties dialog of the object... Very annoying and not superfast at all like QlikView should be...

Can anybody advise me here? That is very annoying for me as a developer as it costs me a lot of time and I cannot really suppose the user to wait a few minutes every time they change a selection...

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

DataNibbler

Hi,

I'm actually pretty sure this problem is not inherent to my document at all - everyone's computers are kind of sluggish and most have quadcores - I have a single-core and CPU load is at an average of 40% when I work with QlikView which is an inch from death for a processor afaIk... I get the first (temporary) "...(Not responding)" message when I open the document and usually one while the object is reloading 😉

Particularly annoying, that keeps me from working even half as fast as I would want to - and than I actually (would) have to to meet all timelines and generally make things move along...

Best regards,

Hii Friedrich,

If you have added the calulated Dimension in the chart. please try to convert it into expression.

calculated dimension will take time to load the chart at every new selection made in the report.

Hi Nilesh,

I will look through the chart. I have already been trying to do as much as possible of the calculations in the script (calculating fields) and use those "existing" fields in my charts. I will see.

Thanks a lot!
