Hi All,
We have 50 jobs to be scheduled in QMC that has to run daily. But with some issue with no.of engines we cannot schedule these many jobs to run daily neither we can combine different qvws as this will be violation of our folder structure. Is there any way we can reduce the no.of jobs in QMC?
Your explanation leads me to believe that all jobs perform independent document reloads. The documents have no relation to each other. They can be scheduled any time of the day in any order? Is that right?
Among the 50 jobs,18 are extraction files and they have their respective transformation and Qlikmart files. And they have to be scheduled in afternoon IST.
18 x 3 = 54 jobs, and then there should exist a few end-user documents as well. If your task chains get reduced at the top, it seems logical to assume that there are more extraction jobs than end-user documents.
Extraction jobs pose the biggest challenge for running in parallel, right? There are two (three) possible approaches to reduce them: merge or serialize (or eliminate all overlapping extracts).
How long does it take on average to complete the longest task chain (not long in length but in reload delay)?
Serialization of jobs served the purpose.
