Regarding Tally Access with QV

Hello All,

I need to extract Tally ERP 9 data using QV. Can some body help to overcome it?

I have already gone through the blog posting over QV community but have not got the solution.

I have installed Tally Client(32 Bit) and QV Products on the same machine.

Now can anybody help how to make a connection with Tally?

Does it required any ODBC DSN/ODBC drivers?

Need a quick response and solution from you guys...

Regards,

Balraj

Tresco,

Thanks for immediate response.

I have tried the following steps:

1. Install tally on qlikview server.

2. Start tally and load any company.

3. Now in Qlikview under connect, you will see something TallyODBC_9000. Take the first one.

4. Put username and password. Check Connection established.

5. Now press Select button and you will see all the tally tables and its fields.

But when I press select button, I am not able to see tally tables and its fields. It is blank.

Why it is after selecting a company also?

Couple of checks:

did you test connection wtih username/pwd successfully?

under connect (drop down) did you get ODBC_9000 as the first one(in similar group)?

Tresco,

I am having Tally Server on different IP address.

And I have installed Tally Client and QV on same IP.

Is this fine?

Can we access Tally Server with Tally Client connection string in QV?

I don't have practical exp in this. See if this: Qlikview to Tally ERP data connectivity? and the tally guy there: sunil.gupta@tallysolutions.com and the pdf attached could help you.

Yes,

Test connection was successful.

Under connect(drop down) I selected ODBC_9000 first one.
