We have the strangest thing on our QlikView server. After a certain timeframe (mostly days) all of our reload and distribute tasks fail with the following message (generated by QlikView Distribution Service v10.0.9061):
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error The sourcedocument failed to open.. Exception=System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component. at QlikView.ApplicationClass.SetUserPreferences(IUserPreferences _Preferences) at QVBWrapper.Document.Load(ILogBucket i_LogBucket)
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error The document failed to open.
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error Document could not be opened
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error Reload failed because the document could not be opened successfully. DocumentState=CouldNotOpenDocument
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error Reload failed. Distribution skipped.
10-10-2011 15:05:07 Error The task "Reload & Distribute My app" failed. ErrorCount=5
It seems to start without any clear reason. To solve it we tried to restart each individual QlikView service, but this had no success. We have tried to stop all the QlikView services and then restart them one by one, but this also did not solve the issue. The tasks keep on failing in their reload. The only thing that resolves the issue is rebooting the server completely.
After the reboot everything works like normal and the tasks work again. But after some time, the error occurs again.
I have looked into the Event Viewer and the only thing that I can find is the following error message:
Request failed (Alternate get): System.Net.HttpListenerException: An operation was attempted on a nonexistent network connection
at System.Net.HttpResponseStream.Dispose(Boolean disposing)
at System.IO.Stream.Close()
at System.Net.HttpResponseStream.ComputeLeftToWrite()
at System.Net.HttpResponseStream.Write(Byte[] buffer, Int32 offset, Int32 size)
at QMS.BackstageWebServer.RespondFileContent(String filename, HttpListenerResponse response, HttpListenerContext context, Boolean isDocumentAdmin)
at QMS.BackstageWebServer.HandleAlternateGet(HttpListenerContext context, Boolean isDocumentAdmin)For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asphttp://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
This seems to occur right before all the reload error messages. The message is generated by the QlikView Management Service.
The files that are reloaded are stored on a local disk of the server. When trying to do the reload on the server itself, it works like a charm. But letting when the tasks execute, they fail.
Because the restarting of the QlikView services do not seem to have any effect it seems like there is a dependency to something else, but I can't figure out what that could be.
Does anybody have a clue?
Hi,
Is it possible for you to attach the server settings snapshots to llok at the server settings.
Mostly some network dirve issues i can see from the log.
Cheers.
I would be more than happy to provide you with extra information. Can you be a bit more specific in what you would like to see?
Thank you
Dear nessinot,
Did you finally get any answer at this question, cause I have exact the same problem.
Regards,
Helen
Hello Helen,
Unfortunately our problem still exists. If you find a solution that solves your problem I would really appreciate it if you would share this.
Regards
as your log showing file could not open from source document.
it seems like file is corrupt or path of file is not correct.
check weither you are able to open file from ur source document.
In my case, the file usually opens normally, but not alwayas.
Hi,
I have the same problem.
I searched for information and still no response.
Dear All,
i get an answer from Qlikview Support about that case which says that this messages are not error messages and if the file open without problem there is nothing to worry about. I hope this help you too.
Kindly Regards,
Helen
Hi,
we've got the same problem. But it is not harmless. I have many log entries with that message and yesterday for the second time. the message numbers increase and the last message says “not enough memory” and after that the blue screen hits the machine……
So has anybody an idea what the problem is. Where can I find out if it’s a specified Report that causes the problem. Or any other idea of getting closer to the source of the problem?
Greetings
Peter
