Hello All,
I have an application which usually reloads within 30mins.
But from last 2 days, it is taking almost 2hrs to reload. When I checked out to 2 different dates log i.e. 6Dec2016(when it takes 30mins to reload) and 8Dec2016(when it takes 2hrs to reload) I couldn't find the exact reason.
For your reference, I am attaching both the logs.
Pls. have a look and let me know what is it that is delaying the reload.
Thanks,
The tasklogs won't help you. Look at the document logs instead. Perhaps there's a change in the data that causes a join to become a lot more expensive to calculate. Or perhaps it's a change in your infrastructure the delays the retrieval of the data from the sources or the writing of the qvd's to the file system.
Hey Gysbert,
Thanks for the info. But I was checking task log files to confirm if there is time delay while allocating qlik engine, which is not the case actually. Also, I have unchecked the generate log file option for that qlikview app. Will generate the doc log and look to it. But it is just a simple extractor of raw data from database. No joins are there in this file.
Then you'll have to find out what has changed in the infrastructure and check if any of those changes is responsible for the change in the load times.
Hey,
Are you loading from a different server?
If yes please check with Network whether was there any interruption on that day.

Hi Nikhil,
if reloading time increases then u need to answer for some questions
-->Had you add/schedule any new qvw's to load at particular time?
-->If this job is depends on another job successful weather that job is completed with in the time/same time after this job is taking long time
Important -->if you reload the same application manually how much time it is taking(30 mins or 2 hours)?
else
down time
-->take a copy of the .qvw file
--> just remove (3 files of) the qvw's for a down time (.qvw,.shared file,.Meta file)
-->Restart 5 services(Now u won't find your .qvw file which you removed)
and create a new schedule for the same .qvw file with the same time.
i hope it will help to you
Hey Rama,
Answers to your questions:
1: No task is scheduled to run at the same time.
2: it is not dependent on any other task. Infact, it is the first task to reload.
3: I have just reloaded the application from desktop and now it takes 14 mins.
Nikhil,
can you follow below one may be it will resolve .
down time
-->take a copy of the .qvw file
--> just remove (3 files of) the qvw's for a down time (.qvw,.shared file,.Meta file)
-->Restart 5 services(Now u won't find your .qvw file which you removed)
-->and create a new job for the same copy file of the .qvw file with the same time.
ok, will remove all files.
As of now I have .qvw and .share file but no .meta file.
Also, I would like to know, how would making the same task again on it reduce my reload time?
this is also one way only,
i did it previously and i got solution.
how we will successful now i also don't know.
because i don't have server access now in my organisation.
Try & Try hitting will give a chance to win the race.
