Hello experts, I think that I have the correct idea about this topic but couldn't be sure.
I have a document with 1 document cal assigned.
In this document with section access I created 6 users (1 admin and user1,user2...user5)
A few days later I noticed that the Document CALs not allocated on server were decreased not by 1 cal but by 6
My thought is that every user in section access is counted as an individual document cal although in the Qlikview Management Console the cals assigned to the documentd is 1.
Is this correct ?can anyone confirm ?
Thank you in advance
Yes, CAL is always user-wise and not document attached.
One Doc CAL - One user (access to one document)
One Named CAL - One user (access to any number of documents)

Document CALs, just like Named CALs, are Licenses that are assigned to a user ID. Different User ID = different license. If you have dynamic CAL ssignment enabled for this document, then the QVS will automatically assign Document CALs to new visitors as long as the pool isn't exhausted and those new users are listed in your Section Access table.
Good to know: Section Access comes first, License assignments come later. No license will be assigned to a user that is denied access by Section Access. If Section Access gets its data from an external source, then you can use that mechanism not only to grant access but also to assign licenses. Automagically.
Hello again,
after the informations you gave me I changed the users in section access from 6 to 2 (1 admin and user1)
Although the Document CALs not allocated on server is the same number as when I had 6 users in the section access.
can you guess why is that ?
Once a CAL is assigned, qlik quarantines it for 24 hrs after it is removed and before it can be assigned to another user. Therefore, you might see the issue gets resolved in 24 hrs.
