Hi All
Can anyone tell me how you can only allow certain users to see certain applications on the access point?
For example if i have User1, User2, User3 and Doc1, Doc2, Doc3
User1 needs to see Doc1 & Doc3
User2 needs Doc1
User 3 needs all documents
Any suggestions will be great
Thanks
Hi!
You can also chose to let QlikView Server manage who sees what, by clicking DMS instead of NTFS in the security options in qliview management console. By doing that you get an extra tab on each document in the management console where you can autorize documents to all or individual users.

Hi,
I think the easier and safer way is to assign different NTFS permissions on each file. So right clicking on the file, Properties, Security, and you add and remove users according to their domain accounts.
The AccessPoint will only show those docs in which ACL the users are, you as an admin will see all of them, but USER1 will see only Doc1 and Doc3 but not Doc2, and so.
Another option is that you create a section access in each file, adding only users allowed to see the document. Once the section access has been added to the script and the file has been reloaded, you need to go to the Settings menu, Document Properties, Server, and click on "Filer AccessPoint Document List based on Section Access". This way requires to change manually each script, and reload all files, but you don't depend on the IT people in charge of permissions, should you don't have admin privileges on the network.
Hope that helps.

Yes, you're right.
But DMS only works with Enterprise Edition licenses, and that might not be the case, apart from the fact that it requires to create an additional custom directory. But of course, that's another option.

Hi!
Thanks for clearing that up, Miguel. I believe though from qv11 DMS should also be available to small business edition, where it might even be more relevant to use.
