Send a value to a Qlikview application and it can be used to filter the Dashboard?

Is it possible to send a value to a Qlikview application (via a URL or something) and it can be used as a filter on the Dashboard when it is first presented.

If so, can someone give me an example of how. THanks!!

You can pass some baisc parameters into a QlikView url to make selections just as you want.
