Server Bookmarks Not Working for 'some' users when Always One Selected Value used in object

Hi All

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but certain users server bookmarks have stopped working because of a listbox I've added which has 'Always One Value Selected' option selected. I can understand this as their bookmarks would have been saved without this new listbox field value selected, so when it's trying to apply the bookmark it's trying to clear this field which it can't do. However, from the server I've re-assigned that server bookmark to my username and tried it from my own login and it does apply the bookmark, with the new field forcefully selected even though it's not part of the bookmark.

I've then shared the bookmark and tried on other users, some users the bookmark works and others bookmark doesn't!?! So it's a local user issue by the looks of it. I've looked at all the User Preferences and can't see anything different.

Could it be IE version or PlugIn that's affecting it?

I'm using QV10 SR3 and IE Plugin.

There's mention of a similar sort of issue as a known bug in QV10 SR4 release notes (see page 30 of the pdf "Server bookmarks cannot be shared to specific users and groups"). Could it be related to this bug?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Derek

Hi!

I have the same problem, but not only when distibuted from a server and using the plugin. When I use a bookmark created on a earlier version (running thrue QV desktop v11) on a new document with objects with 'always one selected' that didn´t existed when the bookmark was created, the bookmark doesn´t work. Correct sheet is selected but nothing more. Current selection is totaly blank.

Bug or works as designed? Is there a workaround or solution?

Hi David,

Was there any workaround found for this?

if yes please post here.

The official position from Qlik on this is WAD. I've personally worked around the problem by not creating any new "always one selected value" list boxes after I launch an app to production. Instead, I simulate the desired radio button behavior by using text objects (assuming, of course, you have a small enough list of values that it's practical to create a text object for each).

Hi Vlad,

This is correct. We have followed the same workaround and has been helpful.

thanks,

Thanks for this post. It was very helpful for a problem I had with bookmarks suddenly not working anymore. Customer had a _Dates listbox where user has to select account, invoice or planned dates. The bookmarks were made before "always one selected value" was existing, as the bookmarks had none of the dates selected. So when I clicked button for bookmark it was as if nothing was working. Found out when I was able to reproduce it by clicking one bookmark and then the planned date. Solution I did was turn off the value, update bookmarks with one of the date types and then turn it on again.
