Server Specifications

Hello,

I need to ask if it's better to have a physical or virtualized server for a QlikView implementation?

And then what specifications do you recommend like how much CPU and RAM?

I know it would depend on the company but is there any standard?

Thank you!

Here's a document that might help: QlikView_and_Server_Virtualization_White_Paper_-_Copy.pdf

It has a list of further resources at the end in Appendix A.

And another document in this disussion: Re: Server sizing

talk is cheap, supply exceeds demand

I don't know if is current now, but one important thing is that the server must to have Intel processors, a few years ago Qlikview didn't work properly with AMD.

And about real or virtual, it doesn't mater, I used both and I doesn't felt the diference (normally, virtual is cheaper)

With the enhancement from AMD for EYPC CPU, esp the 2nd generation Rome, will this change the recommendation to be Intel only?
