Can any body explain me what is the meaning of below expression.means,how it works

=SUM({$<[Year]={'2015'}>-<C1={'Blocked'}>-<D1={'Blocked'}>+

<[Cust Id={'43524'}>} [Sales Vol])

I think

sum of sales vol for year 2015, excluding c1 blocked, excluding d1 blocked, adding cust id 43524

but there is a missing ] after Cust Id
